Job summary

General Mills, Inc. seeks a Plant Technical Manager II to partner with business unit managers to ensure operational success.

This role leads maintenance and engineering, driving safety, capital projects, and reliability across the site. You will mentor the site engineering and maintenance teams, develop strategic plans, and champion continuous improvement through TPM and Manufacturing Excellence methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience.
• 10+ years technical experience in project engineering, systems or process engineering, facilities management, or technical discipline engineering in a manufacturing environment with maintenance experience.
• Strong engineering aptitude and ability to apply engineering principles and solve problems.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and programs across functions.
• Experience coordinating with Quality Control, Purchasing, Distribution, HR, Finance, and Operations.
• Ability to identify broad-scope business solutions across functions to develop new innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to ensure safe work practices across maintenance, engineering, utilities, and plant operations.
• Develop and execute capital investment plans and manage the site capital process.
• Drive reliability improvements and root-cause analysis across plant systems.
• Coordinate with Safety, Operations, and other functions to meet regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor site engineering and maintenance teams; build capabilities and succession plans.
• Ensure budget management and alignment of maintenance with Manufacturing Excellence goals.
