Job summary

Vestis Corporation in Dayton, OH seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient operation of all plant equipment. You will oversee preventive maintenance, manage the maintenance team, and coordinate with Engineering to address issues and improve reliability.

You will set schedules, monitor performance, and drive cost-effective practices while maintaining safety standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree or certificate in related discipline or equivalent business/work experience.
• Experience managing a maintenance staff.
• Basic equipment maintenance knowledge: electrical, plumbing and large machinery.
• Experience with maintenance management systems, Manager Plus preferred.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Safety: create and support a culture of adherence to corporate standardization in production, financial and safety goals.
• Maintenance management: perform scheduled preventive maintenance and audit plant performance.
• Set maintenance schedules for plant equipment to ensure timely operation without production disruption.
• Follow manufacturers' guidelines for preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep.
• Intervene when issues are found with equipment or facility; seek timely resolutions.
• Communicate with market center management on resolutions and timing.
• Perform needed repairs to restore equipment or facility to operating conditions.
• Oversee new equipment installation and removal where applicable.
• Ensure contracted work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Oversee water and energy use; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with management to improve safety and operating efficiency in line with goals and constraints.
