Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a multi-shift production team, ensuring high-quality outputs and on-time delivery. You will coordinate supervisors, optimize staffing, and drive performance improvements within a plant environment.

You will champion safety, adhere to USDA standards, and mentor staff while implementing lean initiatives to boost yields and efficiency. This role emphasizes leadership, accountability, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
• Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to staff.
• Experience using time-keeping systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Open to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Drive Operational Efficiency & Profitability: monitor yields, efficiencies, and profitability; manage staffing and production schedules.
• Champion Safety & Ergonomics: develop safety programs and train employees on safe practices.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance: uphold sanitation, product quality, and customer service; ensure USDA and company regs.
• Lead Training & Continuous Improvement: train supervisors and employees on policies; drive continuous improvement.
• Leadership & Guidance: provide strong leadership and direction on the production floor.
