Job summary

Talis Group's client is seeking a Production Engineering Supervisor to oversee safe, reliable and efficient delivery of their consumer product. This hands-on leadership role combines engineering and operations, guiding plant personnel, driving improvements, and supporting capital projects.

You’ll work with an experienced leadership team to maintain high safety, quality, and regulatory standards while coaching a team of operators and apprentices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
• At least five years of experience in process or production engineering and plant operations.
• Experience with troubleshooting equipment and processes and coordinating projects.
• Experience in utilities, chemical processing, water distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with ability to train employees.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop operators and apprentices to ensure safe plant operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process control issues; identify root causes.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and capital projects to boost efficiency.
• Develop operating procedures, work instructions, and training programs.
• Monitor product quality and production data; adjust processes to maintain standards.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, PSM, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality and other departments to resolve issues.
• Oversee chemical inventory, purchasing, and deliveries to support uninterrupted production.
• Support contractor activities and manage assigned projects.
• Staffing coverage across rotating 12-hour shifts and emergencies.
