Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator for our North Carolina plant. The role focuses on safe operation of plant equipment, loading/unloading fly ash, monitoring inventories, and ensuring safety and quality compliance on site.

Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, sampling fly ash, maintaining records, and supporting maintenance and production startup/shutdown activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; training or certification in relevant skill or trade.
• At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Strong verbal communication skills for conveying instructions and reporting issues.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work habits to help create a zero-injury safety culture
• Attend safety meeting and follow safety guidelines
• Maintain communication with utility
• Monitor and record fly ash levels in silos and place orders as needed
• Pull samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing
• Load trucks, rail cars or barges with fly ash from the silo
• Unload deliveries to fill fly ash silos
• Weigh trucks/rail cars and document data for tickets
• Operate loading equipment (water truck, dump truck, vacuum truck, forklift) as required
• Operate production equipment including start up and shut down
• Assist with maintenance repairs and projects
• Observe safety and security procedures and follow absolutes
