Job summary

American Superconductor Corporation is seeking a Plant Manager in New Milford, CT to lead manufacturing operations, optimize production, and ensure delivery commitments. This role reports to the Site Lead / GM and oversees Operations, Planning, Materials Management, Purchasing, and Inventory Control.

The candidate will drive continuous improvement, maintain safety and quality standards, and manage budgets and labor targets to achieve operational excellence across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in a custom-engineered, project-based manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and budget goals.
• Direct shop floor activities based on the production plan and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain KPI visibility: safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost.
• Oversee Planning, Purchasing, Materials Management, and Inventory Control.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S practices.
