Job summary

Silgan Plastics is seeking a Plant Manager responsible for the effective operation and performance of the manufacturing plant. The role directs staff, aligns tactical and strategic plans with corporate objectives, and safeguards product safety and quality across all duties.

You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure safety and efficiency, manage budgets, and maintain strong relationships with customers while providing regular reports to upper management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years plant management experience.
• Experience managing a diverse staff in a medium to large technical plastic process operation.
• Strong leadership and budgeting abilities.
• Excellent writing, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the plant staff to ensure efficient operation of internal and external functions.
• Ensure the plant meets or exceeds safety, quality and efficiency goals.
• Meet or exceed budget requirements.
• Ensure plant compliance with regulatory agencies and internal SOX requirements.
• Maintain relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with upper management on key issues.
• Manage relationships with cross-functional support groups.
• Regularly review key operating indices and react to variations.
• Provide bi-weekly business updates for upper management.
• Prepare month-end business reports for leadership review.
• Develop annual plant budget.
