Job summary

Silgan Plastics is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing teams on the production floor, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency. You will oversee training, equipment maintenance, and adherence to standard practices to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to inspect and address unsafe conditions, and experience with SPC methodologies to drive continuous improvements. This position is based at our Houston, TX facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required; technical degree is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
• Experience with SPC knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for production, quality, safety, employee relations and resource control on the production floor.
• Train Personnel - training includes formal and informal methods; supervisors spend significant time with people.
• Maximize production throughput by efficient use of labor and materials.
• Maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure proper operation.
• Follow standard practices to ensure quality production and efficient operation.
• Inspect work areas daily for unsafe conditions and correct them promptly.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and document findings.
• Enforce safety rules and engage in continuous safety improvements.
