Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Ohio seeks a Plant Manager to lead the manufacturing facility, aligning tactical and strategic plans with corporate goals. The role provides direction and leadership to staff through goal setting and timely feedback, while ensuring product safety and quality across all duties.

The ideal candidate will drive safety, quality, and efficiency, manage budgets, and liaise with cross-functional teams to meet corporate objectives. This is an on-site leadership position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years plant management experience
• Preferred: 5-10 years' experience managing a diverse staff in a medium to large technical plastic process operation
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; Strong technical background.
• Budgeting preparation and management skills; strong writing, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to plant staff to ensure efficient and cohesive operations
• Meet or exceed key operating goals: safety, quality, and efficiency
• Meet or exceed budget requirements
• Ensure plant is in compliance with all required regulatory agencies and with internal SOX requirements
• Maintain close working relationships with key customers for superior satisfaction
• Timely and effective communication with upper management on key issues
• Effectively manage relationships with cross functional support groups
• Proactively review operating indices and react to variations
• Provide bi-weekly business updates for upper management
• Prepare month-end business reports for upper management
• Develop annual plant budget
