Job summary

Connectly Recruiting seeks a Plant Manager for Storm Lake, Iowa to lead multi-department shop floor operations, drive cost efficiency and ensure on-time delivery. You will supervise manufacturing, maintenance, and scheduling while upholding quality and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Management and 10+ years in manufacturing with at least 4 years in a senior supervisory capacity, plus strong leadership and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or Industrial Management.
• 10+ years in manufacturing with at least 4 years in a higher-level supervisory capacity.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing methods, production planning, employee/labor relations, and standard cost and financial controls.
• Demonstrable skills in assessing, utilizing and developing personnel.
• Ability to communicate, motivate and lead at all levels.
• Superior analytical and critical thinking abilities, ability to balance multiple priorities.
• PC literate with ability to create/use spreadsheet programs.

Responsibilities

• Directs manufacture and assembly at optimum costs while meeting quality and performance standards.
• Manages to meet scheduled delivery dates with minimal WIP and efficient use of resources.
• Develops cost, scrap, rework and extra work reduction programs to improve EBIT.
• Controls quality, cost, inventory, shipping and receiving through subordinates.
• Implements plant policies aligned with corporate directions in manufacturing operations.
• Coordinates execution of schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity.
• Ensures availability of raw materials and supplies for optimum efficiency.
• Discusses methods and production standards with plant staff.
• Reviews and approves machinery/equipment and capital investments.
• Oversees maintenance of buildings and plant security.
• Participates in personnel policies, labor relations, and union negotiations where applicable.
