Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Plant Manager in Storm Lake, Iowa to oversee all shop floor operations and steer them toward low costs, high quality, and reliable customer shipping schedules.

The role ensures plant EBIT is maximized through delegation and effective management of manufacturing, engineering, scheduling, production control, and maintenance. A bachelor’s in a related field and extensive manufacturing leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management or Industrial Management.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 4 years in an upper supervisory role.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing methods, production planning, and financial controls.
• Proven ability to assess, develop and lead personnel.

Responsibilities

• Directs manufacture and assembly of products at optimum cost and with quality and performance standards.
• Meet scheduled delivery dates with minimal WIP and efficient use of resources.
• Develops cost, scrap, and rework reduction programs to improve EBIT.
• Controls production cost, inventory, shipping, and receiving through subordinates.
• Determines plant policies and directs their application to manufacturing operations.
• Coordinates execution of schedules based on sales requirements and capacity.
