Job summary

Piston Automotive, a leader in manufacturing excellence, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee production and development of company products. This role supports a 7 day/week, 3-crew operation and participates in the Plant Leadership Team, driving safety, productivity, quality and continuous improvement.

You will mentor and coach staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, government regulations, and customer requirements while communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
• Eight years of experience as an Operations Supervisor, Manager or related role.
• Eight years in ILVS/JIT/Broadcast environments.
• Eight years of Lean Manufacturing concepts (e.g., Toyota Production System) and TS 16949 knowledge.
• Eight years of leadership experience and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Minimum eight years as a change agent.
• Eight years using 8D, 5 Why, and similar problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Establishes production and quality control standards and develops budgets and cost controls.
• Drives adherence to performance and operational budgets.
• Drives system adherence incl. TS 16949 requirements.
• Fosters an environment of active participation by all team members.
• Leads facility in Plant Manager's absence.
• Creates/sustains a safe work environment plant-wide.
• Develops/manages manufacturing operations plans including labor hours and costs.
• Guides development of manufacturing processes including staffing, materials, subcontracting, facilities, tooling, and equipment.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize costs and avoid delays.
