Job summary

MPW Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily Wilkes-Barre, PA plant operations with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.

You will provide hands-on leadership to operational teams, support customer and production needs, and partner with the Plant Manager to achieve performance goals. The role requires supervising Team Leads and Water Technicians, training staff, monitoring production, and using BI tools to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of two years of mechanical experience; water purification experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and BI tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing conditions, and respond during various hours due to emergency-response nature.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily plant operations to support safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective performance.
• Supervise Team Leads, Water Technicians, and assigned shifts with clear direction.
• Train, onboard, coach, and develop employees to strengthen team performance.
• Monitor production output and uphold operating, quality, and performance standards.
• Use BI reports, dashboards, Intelex, Phoenix, and other tools to monitor performance and identify improvements.
• Manage employee scheduling and staffing coverage to meet requirements.
• Support payroll activities and maintain accurate documentation.
• Participate in recruiting, performance reviews, and employee development as required.
• Reinforce health, safety, environmental, and LMS requirements during daily operations.
• Coordinate with Plant Manager to achieve production, service, safety, and cost-control goals.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and tools.
• Adapt quickly to changing conditions while maintaining safety and cost expectations.
• Exercise independent decision-making within scope of responsibilities.
