Job summary

The Wilmington Group in High Point, NC is seeking an Operations Manager to lead first-line operations, safety, maintenance, quality, and asset management. The role oversees plant staff, coordinates production planning, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Weekend/evening work and up to 10% travel may be required. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, and optimize labor costs while maintaining quality standards and timely

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required;Bachelor’s Degree and/or progressive supervisory training in recycling/manufacturing preferred
• 4+ years’ experience leading operations management or supervisory experience required
• Maintenance Experience and Strong Mechanical aptitude; OSHA training preferred
• Previous Operations Manager experience in recycling industry preferred; Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement desirable
• Advanced understanding of Safety/OSHA regulation and programs

Responsibilities

• Develop, cultivate and enforce our safety culture and procedures
• Coach safety processes to ensure a safe working environment
• Oversee safety compliance and training per Safety Management System
• Lead planning to maximize production efficiency and meet plant objectives
• Monitor productivity metrics and optimize assets utilization
• Oversee operations, maintenance, and general labor staff; report to General Manager
• Maintain licenses, permits, and fire suppression system inspections
• Collaborate with HR to address employee information and concerns
• Perform other duties as required
