Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Plant Modelling & Simulation Engineer to develop, validate, and maintain 0D/1D plant models for XIL, virtual validation, and system integration. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in plant modeling, simulation, or V&V environments
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools
• Knowledge of physical system modeling (0D/1D)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methods
• Experience in one scripting language

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 0D/1D plant models representing physical systems (e.g., propulsion, chassis, ADAS, infotainment)
• Ensure models meet appropriate fidelity levels depending on development phase (concept, design, integration, validation)
• Perform model validation and correlation against requirements and test data
• Support model reduction and optimization for simulation efficiency
• Model-Based Development Support
• Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and environments
• Support virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification activities
• Collaborate with controls and system engineers to ensure alignment between plant models and control strategies
• Contribute to continuous integration pipelines for model development and validation
• Work with system and functional design teams, architecture and simulation framework teams, testing and validation teams, suppliers and tool vendors
• Ensure plant models are compatible with simulation platforms and enable cross-domain data exchange
