Job summary

QE Solar is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee field services for solar and BESS assets across projects, optimizing performance and ensuring compliance. The role includes directing field teams, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory adherence in diverse environments.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years as Plant Manager or Field Engineer in power gen, with 600V–1500V experience, NEC/IEEE/NFPA-70E knowledge, and DAS/SCADA proficiency. Certifications in inverters/BESS are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School or Technical School Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Veterans or military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
• 2+ years of specialist, technical experience with solar, BESS, or other renewable systems; Experience with Data Acquisition Systems (DAS).
• 4 years of technical experience as a Plant Manager or Field Engineer in power generation; Experience with 600V-1500V systems; Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE and NFPA-70e; Proficient with technology and computing platforms; C&I/Utility Scale solar/BESS experience.
• Inverter and/or BESS manufacturers’ certifications (e.g. SunGrow, Power Electronics, Solectria, BYD) a plus.
• Thermography certifications (Level 1)
• IT/networking skills: RS485, Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.
• Completion of NFPA 70E courses
• CPR/First Aid

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair systems failures on existing solar sites and support preventative maintenance on solar, BESS, and related equipment.
• Manage field teams (internal and external) and scheduling of field personnel; assist in managing contractual and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure a safe, event-free work environment by adhering to safety policies and site plans; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs, and equipment modifications; provide timely written and oral communications.
• Coordinate with leadership, project managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure timely resolution of activities; oversee warranty matters.
