Job description

gpac is working with an award-winning, family-owned, growing food manufacturer in North Central Massachusetts that is seeking a Plant Manager.

They have been in business for over 15 years, specializing in made-from-scratch baked goods crafted with high-quality ingredients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage overall manufacturing results, including production costs, labor utilization, and yield.
  2. Mentor and develop the team to ensure high performance.
  3. Ensure the plant operates in compliance with food safety standards and good manufacturing practices, including passing audits.
  4. Continuously seek opportunities to reduce operating costs.
  5. Maintain positive employee relations through effective initiatives.
  6. Develop and recommend capital improvements, including preparing and executing the plant's capital budget.
  7. Prepare and manage the plant's overhead budget and product cost targets.
  8. Meet or exceed customer service level targets by coordinating processes from demand planning to delivery.
  9. Manage the performance of both hourly and salaried staff according to HR policies and initiatives.
  10. Set and achieve health and safety targets.
  11. Support marketing and product development for new product initiatives.
  12. Ensure compliance with GFSI, FDA, and SQF standards for food safety and quality assurance.
