National Gypsum Company seeks a Manu Mgmt Trainee D (PLT) Assistant Plant Manager in Clinton, IN. The role trains under the Manufacturing Management Development Program to lead plant operations, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and support budgeting and process improvements.

The position offers a clear path to senior management, requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or related field and 5+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience, with relocation and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science (plus).
• Minimum 5 years direct manufacturing management experience.
• Production manager or equivalent in continuous manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Hands-on management style.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• MS Excel; SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Plant Manager in all plant management functions.
• Collaborate with plant management to set strategic and production goals.
• Oversee plant operations in the absence of the AP Manager.
• Ensure safe working environment through training and inspections.
• Support quality metrics and manufacturing targets.
• Supervise Production Department Leaders and Shipping staff.
• Participate in QA program oversight and raw materials handling.
• Ensure product certifications requirements are met.
• Lead process control system implementations.
• Assist budgeted material usage and reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Promote ONE TEAM culture and safety as core values.
