Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. in New Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Plant Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Monday–Friday; rotation possible).

After training, you will assume sole mechanic responsibility for the assigned shift, maintaining production equipment and ensuring safety and quality standards. The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing equipment repair, knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, and the ability to work weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High-school degree or equivalent is required.
• Technical Degree or Experience with electrical or mechanical systems – Preferred.
• Ability to work weekends as needed is a must.
• Exhibits reliability, safety awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Following completion of training, this position will assume sole mechanic responsibility for the assigned shift, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be willing to learn new skills such as how to safely and effectively maintain the production equipment.
• Responsible with on-time attendance and ability to assess situations and make recommendations.
• Math skills for measuring materials and equipment settings.
• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and electrical systems.
