Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. in Edgerton, KS is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a B shift. You will troubleshoot and diagnose production equipment and perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency maintenance in a just-in-time environment.

Location: Edgerton KS; Hours: Tue-Fri 4:00 PM–2:30 AM; Pay: $26.36 per hour. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3–5 years in manufacturing; training in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, and Servo preferred.

Qualifications

Reads and interprets manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
Complies with safety regulations and keeps areas clean and orderly.
Follows safety practices in the work area and facility.
Performs housekeeping tasks as needed.
Performs duties assigned by manager.
Ensures production runs with minimal interruptions.
Collaborates with Regulatory Compliance on food safety.
Three to five years’ manufacturing experience.
Training in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, and Servo preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and performs scheduled maintenance.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
Conduct plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks as needed.
Maintain housekeeping standards with attention to detail.
