Job summary

JBS USA Omaha seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance and reliability programs, oversee budgeting, and drive safe, efficient operations on the production floor.

You will mentor a team of technicians and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. A strong background in industrial maintenance and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ management experience and minimum 5 years maintenance experience preferably in a food processing plant, but experience in a highly regulated large industrial or manufacturing environment will be considered
• Extensive experience maintaining & managing building services/systems using contractors & staff
• Experience with WHMIS, Health & Safety; PMP and HACCP an asset
• Experience with quality improvement and risk management processes an asset
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent preferred but not required, college degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Supervises workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Supervises employees who maintain, repair and service plant equipment, buildings, and facilities
• Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure the most effective return on assets
• Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital
• Utilizes working knowledge of electrical systems, both control and industrial wiring, pip fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls and instrumentation to maintain plant equipment at optimal level.
• Utilizes knowledge of automatic equipment operation to include setup, repair and tear down in order to maintain plant equipment at optimal levels, inspecting completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
• Maintain the plant Preventative Maintenance Records.
• Send out maintenance schedules on a weekly basis
• Responsible for all physical plant facilities, systems and equipment
• Identify and monitor issues as they arise and implement solutions
• Prepare engineering and maintenance departmental operating budgets and control expenditures within approved budgets
• Responsible for supervising both minor and major capital projects
• Participate in the ongoing support of the Processing Operating System
• Manage maintenance KPI expectations, environmental and energy initiatives
• Mentor and supervise the activities of technical and administrative staff with approximately 3 direct reports and 19 indirect reports as well as external service providers
• Ensure safety compliance for buildings, equipment and staff
• Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
• Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies
• Contributes to the on-going development of JBS Omaha’s policies and procedures;
• Collaborate with operations for smooth operation of production floor.
