Job summary

JBS USA in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Plant Engineer to lead maintenance and reliability efforts in our food processing facility. You will oversee maintenance, automation, electrical and instrumentation, and manage a team of two Supervisors and a Planning Supervisor.

The role requires a strong background in industrial maintenance, ammonia refrigeration, SAP CMMS, and a track record of reducing downtime.

Qualifications

10+ years in industrial maintenance
5+ years in food processing industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ammonia refrigeration and sanitary maintenance experience
PSM/RMP and SAP experience preferred
Strong leadership and people skills
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
Proficiency in MS Office

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance execution activities at the Council Bluffs, IA facility supporting plant operations
Oversee the Preventative Maintenance program and CMMS (SAP) implementation and adherence
Oversee Automation, Electrical, Instrumentation and Reliability teams
Develop and mentor Maintenance Supervisors and Planning Supervisor
Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, QA and Shipping to meet KPIs
Lead Root Cause Analysis, Focused Improvement and FMEA initiatives
Support startup planning and labor/resource forecasting for projects
Partner with EHS on safety and ergonomic requirements
