Job summary

JBS USA in Columbia, MO is seeking a Plant Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering activities in a fast-paced food processing facility. You will oversee ammonia refrigeration systems, safety compliance, and a team of maintenance supervisors to ensure reliable plant operations.

The role requires extensive experience in industrial maintenance, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with operations, QA, procurement and safety teams while driving continuous improvement and

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in ammonia refrigeration and sanitary maintenance.
• Strong leadership of maintenance teams and reliability programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance execution activities in Columbia, MO facility.
• Oversee Preventative Maintenance program and SAP CMMS.
• Develop 5 Maintenance Supervisors and a Planning Supervisor.
• Recruit and develop the department; ensure engineering standardization.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, QA and Shipping to meet KPIs.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis, Focused Improvement and FMEA.
• Plan start-ups and identify labor, scrap, and inefficiencies.
• Support new projects with documentation, training, and spare parts.
• Partner with EHS on safety and ergonomic requirements.
