Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, is seeking an entry-level plant operator to operate and monitor machinery while following safety policies to produce quality precast concrete and related products.

The role requires reading specifications, adjusting machinery, maintaining product quality, and performing routine maintenance. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience as applicable to job requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Basic math with measurements (units, fractions, decimals).
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Other duties as needed.
