Job summary

Chaucer Foods is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our Forest Grove manufacturing team. You will partner with plant leadership and frontline employees on recruiting, employee relations, payroll and day‑to‑day HR guidance in a fast‑paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years as an HR generalist including payroll, with strong communication and confidentiality. This onsite role requires collaboration across operations and leadership to build a positive, compliant workplace at

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field, or equivalent.
• 3+ years progressive HR generalist experience including payroll.
• 3+ years recruiting experience.
• Experience supporting hourly employees in manufacturing/food production.
• Experience with employee relations and recruiting.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, leave administration and employment practices.
• Strong communication, organization and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Independent work style and partnership with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support recruiting activities for hourly production and plant positions.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and move candidates through hiring process.
• Coordinate interviews, offers, pre‑employment requirements and onboarding.
• Strengthen local talent pipeline and employer brand.
• Identify opportunities to improve retention and the new‑hire experience.
• Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and leave administration.
• Support payroll processes, timekeeping and HR records.
• Coordinate and support leave processes and accommodation requests.
• Support site HR programs and workforce planning.
• Be a visible HR presence within the Forest Grove plant.
