Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an intern for the Reliability Engineering group at the Sherco Generating Plant in Becker, MN. You will assist with plant projects, perform performance analyses, and contribute to emissions control and process improvements.

As a current ABET-accredited engineering student, you will gain hands-on experience, collaborate across teams, and develop practical skills in power generation operations this summer under a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Current student, sophomore or higher.
• Enrolled in ABET accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Support plant projects, both capital and ops/maintenance.
• Performance/efficiency analysis.
• Emissions control and project management.
• Specifying new and replacement equipment and process improvements.
• Support technical requests from operations and maintenance.
