Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a summer internship designed for engineering students to gain hands-on experience in plant reliability, maintenance and project oversight. You will work with engineering staff, assist with budgeting, forecasting, and records management, and participate in equipment troubleshooting and inspections.

Ideal candidates are current students, enrolled in an accredited engineering program, able to travel to multiple worksites, and prepared to commit to a full-time summer schedule

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Engineering
• Personal vehicle required to travel to other worksites
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

• Learning and understanding Power Plant process
• Support drawing updates and records management
• Support equipment inspections
• Participate in equipment troubleshooting
