Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc is seeking an engineering intern to support reliability engineering at Harrington and Nichols Stations. You will collaborate with plant engineers to develop skills for reliable operation and maintenance of power plant equipment.

You will assist with overhaul planning, capital projects, troubleshooting, and related documentation, including SAP work orders and drawing updates using Projectwise. This is a May 31, 2027 start with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university pursuing a degree in engineering.
• Engineering majors preferred.
• Able to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide reliability engineering support to Harrington and Nichols Stations.
• Collaborate with facility engineers to develop engineering skills for reliable operation and maintenance.
• Assist with overhaul planning, capital projects, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Work with contractors onsite and offsite.
• Assist with SAP work order creation and related paperwork.
• Learn to pull and update drawings using Projectwise.
