Job summary

Redwood Farms Meat Processors in Estherville, IA, is seeking an experienced electrician/maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in a pork processing facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, read schematics, and ensure compliance with safety and food-safety standards.

Shift: day, with potential extra hours as needed. Ideal candidates have an electrical degree or apprenticeship, knowledge of Studio 5000/SCADA/PLC, and experience

Qualifications

• Electrical degree or completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
• Experience working as an electrician or technician; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Advanced understanding of electrical codes, control wiring, safety systems, and blueprints.
• Experience with Studio 5000, SCADA or PLC programming is a plus.
• Familiarity with HVAC, generators and VFDs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, low/high voltage and lighting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls; repair machinery with minimal downtime.
• Understand HVAC, Freon and CO2 systems and related testing equipment.
• Complete work orders with materials used and time spent.
• Safely operate equipment and follow NEC and food-safety requirements.
