Job summary

Green Plains Inc. is seeking an EHSS Manager to oversee environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance at the plant level.

You will manage procedures, training, investigations, and reporting, working closely with plant employees and management to foster a zero-harm culture and compliance with all regulations. The role may lead EHSS specialists and requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field required.
• 5 years of EHSS experience, preferably in management.
• Proven ability to organize and lead people and projects.
• Some travel is required, seasonally.
• Working knowledge of Title V, NPDES, SWPPP, SPCC, PSM, OSHA standards, air, water and waste regulations.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills and teamwork.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage facility air and water permits, SWPPP, SPCC, FRP, TRI, Tier II, HazWaste, regulatory records and reports.
• Conduct EHSS training in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Promote EHSS awareness at the plant and monitor for compliance.
• Lead the EHSS committee and communicate with its members.
• Implement and enforce EHSS policies to meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
• Investigate EHSS incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain regulatory records and ensure timely reporting to authorities.
• Supervise EHSS specialists or assistants as needed.
