Job summary

Green Plains Inc. is seeking a Corporate Safety Manager to lead EHSS strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards across biorefinery plants.

You will guide training, corrective actions and safety initiatives, collaborating with plant staff and corporate teams to drive continuous safety improvement. The role demands 10+ years in EHSS with a strong leadership background, experience with federal/state regulations, and the ability to manage risk assessments and emergency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Safety or related fields.
• 10+ years in EHSS, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role leading safety programs.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and change management.

Responsibilities

• Build a plant culture of no harm to employees and the environment.
• Educate management and EHSS teams on risk prevention to drive initiatives.
• Implement and improve compliance systems and policies aligned with regulations.
• Provide expert guidance on changes in local, state and federal regulations.
• Monitor training and development to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive timely closure of incidents and preventive actions.
• Manage EHSS risk assessments and mitigation plans for facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate annual safety plan reviews at all locations.
• Lead incident response planning and emergency readiness as needed.
• Partner with legal on regulatory matters.
