Job summary

Addison Group SoCal seeks a Manufacturing Plant Controller to lead cost accounting, asset reporting, and manufacturing analysis for a profitable B2B manufacturer. You will partner with Operations and Finance, develop cost standards, and drive improvements in product costing and reporting.

This hands-on leader will mentor a small team, oversee inventory controls, capex tracking, and IFRS-enabled reporting while supporting budgeting and month-end close with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of standard costing, product costing, manufacturing variances, inventory controls, cycle counts, and fixed assets.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, planning, financial reporting, capex analysis, and operational decision support.
• Advanced Excel expertise, strong data-mining skills, and experience with ERP and reporting systems.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting professionals.
• Executive-level communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; exposure to IFRS and full P&L responsibility is preferred.
• Experience with legacy and cloud-based ERP systems and heavy-duty Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the cost accounting function for a growing, global manufacturing business.
• Create, roll, and maintain material, labor, and overhead standards, including absorption calculations and detailed variance analysis.
• Strengthen product-cost, contribution-margin, labor, material, and manufacturing-performance reporting, including IFRS evolution.
• Build internal relationships with department heads and provide meaningful insight to control costs.
• Determine pricing for custom products and maintain standard-product pricing that supports targets.
• Prepare balance-sheet reconciliations and analysis of direct-cost, inventory, fixed-asset, and related accounts.
• Oversee cycle-count and physical-inventory processes and related controls.
• Track, manage, and report on capex projects and fixed assets.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and ad hoc reporting.
• Review E&O inventory and partner with Operations on process improvements.
• Serve as primary contact for external-audit inquiries involving manufacturing costs, inventory, fixed assets.
• Lead special projects for CFO and global finance teams; mentor cost accounting staff.
