Job summary

Allied Fabricators, LLC in Texas seeks a seasoned Plant Controller to own the financial picture of the factory floor, guiding standard costing, variances, inventory valuation, and P&L reporting.

You will lead two staff accountants, manage purchasing approvals, capex, and intercompany allocations while partnering with operations and corporate finance to drive cost clarity and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior experience as a Controller or Financial Controller.
• Experience leading and developing an accounting team.
• Demonstrated depth in standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead absorption.
• Hands-on inventory accounting experience.
• Experience owning a full month-end close.
• Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel.
• Comfort on the shop floor — spend real time out there.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting for plant; maintain and refine standard cost system for material, labor, burden, and overhead rates.
• Own purchasing approval workflow; review requisitions and PO approvals within delegated authority.
• Administer capital expenditure approval process from request to authorization.
• Provide financial advisory to plant leadership on capacity, pricing, sourcing, and capital decisions.
• Costing: analyze variances and report margin at completion with root cause.
• Prepare plant P&L with meaningful commentary and KPI reporting.
• Develop and report KPIs: cost per ton, throughput, labor utilization, scrap rate.
• Lead the plant month-end close and coordinate with corporate finance.
• Manage intercompany transactions and shared-cost allocations.
• Support external audits and corporate consolidation.
