Job summary

LHH is supporting our northside manufacturing client in Indianapolis in their search for a Plant Controller who acts as the CFO for the plant. The role oversees the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows with a focus on financial direction and actionable insights to improve site performance.

Key responsibilities include month-end close, financial statements, internal controls, external audits, and coordinating with plant leadership on inventory and standard costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting and finance experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on accounting management experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience preparing financial statements and close processes.
• Manufacturing accounting experience including inventory and cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process and financial reviews.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, operating reports, and management analyses.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate external audits and supporting documentation.
• Manage bank reconciliations, treasury forecasts, debt reporting, and debt payments.
• Maintain chart of accounts and accuracy of financial records.
• Support local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Partner with plant leadership on inventories and standard costs.
• Monitor inventory movements and adjust accounting records.
• Prepare open-orders, inventory, production, and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting and report variances.
• Develop financial and operational metrics for decision-making.
• Oversee sales commissions and other operational accounting.
• Manage and develop a four-person accounting team.
