Job summary

NOMAC is seeking a Plant Chemist to supervise day-to-day chemist activities, ensuring analyses, testing, inspections and calibrations in the laboratory align with quality standards and HSE procedures. You will maintain plant chemistry parameters within limits and guide the Operations team on process improvements.

You will also contribute to the department budget, supervise staff, train juniors, and participate in internal and external audits to uphold safety, quality and environmental standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory function, preferably in a plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for environmental and process safety.
• Good communication and mentoring abilities with team coordination.
• Experience with SAP processes and data management is advantageous.
• Ability to plan, organize and integrate multiple activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise chemists to ensure timely analyses, testing, inspections and calibrations.
• Contribute to department budget and monitor financial performance against it.
• Define operating parameters to achieve optimum chemical conditions and plant integrity.
• Provide guidance to Operations to maximize yield while complying with quality guidelines.
• Train junior staff and participate in internal/external audits (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment).
• Oversee sample testing, schedule adherence, and documentation accuracy.
