The Planning & Scheduling Analyst plays a key role in designing and delivering effective, realistic transit service for the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing bus and streetcar schedules and for compiling and analyzing a wide range of operational and ridership data to improve the efficiency, reliability, and equity of transit service across the region. The position supports Title VI analysis and community engagement to advance service planning initiatives and ensure mobility needs are met throughout the service area. The Planning & Scheduling Analyst may also serve as project manager for service planning efforts and contribute to cross-departmental projects through data analysis, technical review, and coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation or transit planning, public administration or policy, information systems, Logistics, engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university. 3 years’ experience in transit, transportation, community development, urban planning, or a related field.
Master’s degree in urban planning, transportation or transit planning, public administration or policy, information systems, logistics, engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university and % years’ experience in transit, transportation, community development, urban planning, or a related field.
Experience working for a public transit agency or a firm directly engaged in service planning and scheduling work is strongly preferred.
A combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements (7 years or more of applicable experience in the aforementioned fields).
Must be able to remain stationary 60% of the time, constantly operate a computer, and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine, computer, printer, etc. Occasionally move boxes weighing 15 pounds throughout the office. Must be able to communicate information so that others will understand.
