New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is seeking a Transportation Planner to administer short- and long-range transit service plans, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. You will assist in planning routes, contribute to the Title VI Annual Report, manage special projects, and support strategic bus and rail service integration.
The role reports to the Director of Capital Projects and requires a Bachelor’s in a related field with several years of transit planning experience.

POSITION STATUS:Full-Time
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
SALARY RANGE: $66,650-$75,000 annually (Position may be filled at the senior level based on candidate qualifications)
The Transportation Planner administers the development and maintenance of short- and long-range transit service plans, coordinating work within the RTA and with external partner agencies. The incumbent will assist in the development, planning, implementation, and review of existing and proposed transit routes, prepare information and submit information for the Title VI Annual Report, serve as project manager for special projects and coordinate land use and design review with outside agencies, and provide assistance in the strategic planning for bus and rail service integration.

Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, engineering, or related field. 5 years’ experience in transit, transportation, urban planning, or a related field.
Master’s degree in urban planning, transportation, engineering, or related field.
A valid Louisiana Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out essential functions
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the time. Constantly operates a computer or other office productivity machinery, such as a copier, computer, printer, etc. Occasionally moves boxes up to 15 pounds.
