Job summary

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority seeks a Planning & Scheduling Analyst to design and deliver effective transit schedules across the region. You will compile and analyze operational and ridership data to improve efficiency, reliability, and equity in service, and may lead cross-departmental projects.

The role supports Title VI analysis and community engagement, and may serve as project manager for planning efforts, coordinating with IT and field staff to ensure accurate data and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 3 years’ experience in transit, transportation, community development, urban planning, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred with related experience (7+ years) in transit or planning.
• Experience with public transit agency or service planning and scheduling strongly preferred.
• Combination of education and related experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze scheduling parameters: passenger loads, reliability, running times, ridership.
• Review and adjust schedules to maintain effective and efficient service.
• Develop service pick, rostering, headways, and related materials.
• Conduct field studies and engage stakeholders to inform service changes.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure data flow between scheduling system, CAD/AVL, and ITS platforms.
• Perform data-driven research to support new service or changes.
• Serve as Project Manager for assigned studies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation or transit planning, public administration or policy, information systems, Logistics, engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university
