Job summary

Legrand is hiring a Planner/Scheduler for the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. You will plan and schedule customer orders, coordinating with Planning, Sales, Purchasing and Production to establish due dates that meet customer needs.

You will utilize ERP systems, analyze production information, and support multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires adaptability to various shifts and a collaborative problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years planning/scheduling experience in an ERP system (SyteLine 8.0 preferred).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and project management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate sales orders from order-entry through shipment.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchasing and Engineering to prioritize production.
  • Communicate order statuses to sales, managers and production teams.
  • Advise on daily scheduling changes to meet production requirements.
  • Use ERP to identify order constraints and communicate with Sales.
  • Perform data mining in ERP to find root causes of late shipments.
  • Understand manufacturing processes to set realistic schedules.
  • Evaluate production load against capacity and adjust plans as needed.

Job Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Planner/Scheduler to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the day-to-day planning and scheduling of customer orders and will work closely with Planning, Sales, Purchasing and Production teams to establish due dates to meet customer's needs. This position provides support to all business areas of Starline and is a key driver for the organization's customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Facilitate sales orders from order-entry through post-shipment
  • Work with Production, Purchasing and Engineering to systematically prioritize and execute production requirements
  • Clearly communicate order statuses to sales representatives, managers and production personnel
  • Communicate priorities and schedule changes on a daily basis to support changes in production requirements with production teams
  • Upon order-entry, utilize the ERP system to identify order constraints. Expedite constraints where possible and communicate clearly with Sales
  • Conduct early analysis of orders, verifying accuracy of production information and documents
  • Utilize the ERP system for data mining and analysis, determining root cause reasons for late customer order shipments and past-due job operations
  • Understand the manufacturing process thoroughly and maintain reasonable expectations as to what can be accomplished in a certain timeframe
  • Evaluate production load against available capacity to make changes in scheduling as needed
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Starline part numbering methodology and nomenclature
  • Manage items and materials that have processes outsourced and clearly communicate delivery updates and impacts to the production schedule
  • Assist with problem-solving related to inventory accuracy, expedites and part shortages
  • Support the planning team by completing miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed
  • Ability to work, on occasion, various schedules and shifts
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Education
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree or relevant work-related experience
  • 3 years of planning/scheduling experience within an ERP system (SyteLine 8.0 preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Ability to apply the use of ERP software and an understanding of items, bills of material, routings, planning parameters, production orders, labor collection, inventory consumption and output
  • Ability to use internal systems for extracting data, reporting and troubleshooting
  • Basic ability to conduct root cause analysis and effectively report results
  • Strong interpersonal skills required for cross-departmental communication, root cause activities and implementation of solutions
  • Ability to multi-task, managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously
  • Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas where, in certain locations, the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection, is required
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
