Job summary

Legrand in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Production Coordinator to join the Starline Team on the Weekday Night shift. You will support the Team Supervisor and frontline employees, ensuring proper use of materials, adherence to standards, and collaboration with QA and Engineering on production issues.

The role requires experience in manufacturing, ability to learn systems like Dispatch, Syteline, CloudSuite and Outlook, and a team-focused, safety-conscious approach.

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Legrand/Starline preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.

  • Ensure the product is made to Legrand standards and take appropriate action.

  • Cross training to work in other functional departments of the plant.
  • Ability to work all shifts, as needed.

At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Coordinator to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.

This role will support the Team Supervisor and team of frontline employees within a designated area, assisting with standard work process, training, non-conforming material, quality support and work flow.

This position supports the Busway Plugs department on the Weekday Night shift (Monday - Thursday, 7:30pm - 5:30am).

Responsibilities

Main Job Duties:

  • Ensures that employees are utilizing materials properly and effectively.
  • Assists with 6S initiatives or projects throughout the department.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with various departments of the organization.
  • Ensure that employees are using the correct tools, parts and information they need to be fully productive.
  • Coordinate with QA on processing of non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure the product is made to Legrand standards and take appropriate action, if needed.
  • Effectively communicates information regarding product, quality and safety topics.
  • Check and reply to emails about ECNs and material issues.
  • Follow all documented Material Issuing Procedures with no exceptions.
  • Pull material from the Warehouse and the Supermarkets.
  • Fulfill requests for the lines (ie. fill fast wall bins, replace QTN items, remove extra parts and send them back into the warehouse and supply parts due to shortages).
  • Directly/indirectly communicate with Engineering on production issues, changes and new implementations. (ie. ECN, non-conformities, engineer support, etc.).
  • Develop and sustain a working familiarity of materials used in the assembly of various product families
  • Fill in for Team Supervisor when he/she is not available.
  • Models high standards of conduct and leadership.
  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT values.
  • Cross training to work in other functional departments of the plant
  • Ability to work all shifts, as needed
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 2 years of Legrand/Starline experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to run reports, read engineering drawings, BOMs and Travelers.
  • Ability to multi-task expeditiously due to production demands.
  • Ability to learn Dispatch, Syteline and other systems – CloudSuite and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform material transactions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Knowledge of standard wiring practices and wire management.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, toe protection and hearing protection are required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
