Job summary

JBA International, LLC. in Glendale, CA seeks an Associate Attorney for Employment Trial Litigation on the plaintiff side.

You will prepare cases for trial, take and defend depositions, and draft motions and briefs to advance settlements and trial strategy. Ideal candidates have an active California State Bar license, 5+ years in employment law litigation, and proven trial experience; familiarity with FEHA, wage-and-hour claims, and local rules is expected.

Qualifications

• Active California State Bar membership (required).
• 5+ years of employment law litigation experience (required).
• Trial experience (required).
• Deposition experience (required).
• Experience with FEHA, wrongful termination, Labor Code, and wage-and-hour claims.
• Strong knowledge of California Civil Procedure and local court rules.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Arbitration knowledge and mediation experience (required).
• Firm-paid bar dues, MCLE, and malpractice coverage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare employment cases for trial.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Draft and argue motions, including discovery motions and motions for summary judgment.
• Draft trial briefs, exhibit and witness lists, jury instructions, and verdict forms.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel; lead settlement negotiations.
• Work with senior trial attorneys and support staff to develop trial strategy.
