Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation seeks a Guest Coffee Shop Associate for our PJ's Coffee Cafe. You will greet customers, prepare beverages and pastries, follow sanitation standards, handle cash, and assist in maintaining store standards.

This role collaborates with team members to meet sales goals and deliver memorable guest experiences in a vibrant hotel environment. Experience in beverage service is preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and greets every customer as they enter the outlet
• Determine customer needs and appropriately suggest product with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals
• Follows Sonesta Service standards with every guest interaction
• Prepares PJ's Coffee Cafe beverages according to standards in F&B SOP Manual
• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Itemizes and totals check for service or totals takeout transaction on cash register and accepts payment
• Stocks and replenishes merchandise and rotates stock
• Performs cleaning tasks as assigned in daily opening and/or closing duties to maintain cleanliness standards
• Maximize revenue and contribute to store sales goals by reducing waste and improving profits
• Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions
• Build solid relationship with your Colleagues
• Takes care of colleagues with respect and dignity
• Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires trust; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.

What this role is all about

Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.

Key Job Functions

• Follows Hotel's cash handling procedures and cash register policies
• Stocks and replenishes merchandise and rotates stock
• Performs cleaning tasks as assigned in daily opening and/or closing duties to maintain cleanliness standards
• Maximize revenue and contribute to store sales goals by reducing waste and improving profits
• Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises 3-5 employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the coffee shop. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
