Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking an Outlet Cashier to join our dynamic food & beverage team. You'll process guest transactions, assist with orders, and help ensure guests leave with a positive final impression.

This role suits someone who enjoys hospitality, has strong attention to detail, and can thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with POS systems and cash handling is preferred, along with a friendly, service-minded attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, retail, hospitality, hotel, café, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience using POS systems and balancing cash.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Basic food safety knowledge and alcohol service certification preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Process guest orders, payments, and transactions accurately using POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient guest service during restaurant, café, bar, grab-and-go, and Food & Beverage outlet operations.
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, pricing, promotions, and outlet offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of cashier stations, beverage areas, counters, and guest-facing spaces.
• Assist with order coordination, guest requests, and operational support during busy service periods.
• Balance cash drawers, process credit card transactions, and support end-of-shift reconciliation procedures.
• Follow food safety standards, sanitation procedures, responsible alcohol service guidelines, and hotel operational policies.
• Support restocking of supplies, grab-and-go items, utensils, condiments, and operational inventory as needed.
• Partner closely with Culinary, Servers, Bartenders, and Food & Beverage leadership to support smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
• Help create a welcoming, positive, and service-focused atmosphere aligned with Sonesta's People People culture.
• Any other duties as assigned.
