Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Barista/Supervisor to lead daily cafe operations at our New Orleans property. You will greet guests, educate on products, and prepare coffee beverages and pastries following the F&B SOPs.

• Determine customer needs and appropriately suggest product with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.
• Follows Sonesta Service standards with every guest interaction.
• Prepares PJ’s Coffee Cafe beverages according to standards in F&B SOP Manual.
• Follows store policy and procedures for operational flow.
• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Itemizes and totals check for service or totals takeout transaction on cash register and accepts payment.
• Stocks and replenishes merchandise and rotates stock.
• Performs cleaning tasks as assigned in daily opening and/or closing duties to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Maximize revenue and contribute to store sales goals by reducing waste and improving profits.
• Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions.

Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.
