Job summary

The Press Club Grill in Portland, ME is seeking Kitchen Staff (BOH) to join our busy kitchen. You will assist with food preparation, follow sanitation and safety standards, and help ensure menu items are prepared to spec using established recipes.

Evening and weekend availability is required. No previous cooking experience is necessary, but pizza experience is a plus; benefits include free meals while on shift, flexible schedules, and a full benefits package for all full‑time team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food using established procedures.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required.
• Ensures availability of supplies for substitutions in time.
• Serves or ensures proper serving of food for take-out or dining room.
• Maintains sanitation, safety and hygiene standards.
• Operates appliances/grills/ovens to prepare menu items.
• Stores food properly and safely with dates.
• Reports equipment repair needs to supervisor.
• Prepares all items following recipes and diet orders.
• Plans production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve quality.
• Maintains daily production records.
• Keeps work area neat and clean; cleans and maintains equipment.
