Job summary

Stupid Good BBQ in Virginia is seeking an experienced pit master to lead our low-and-slow barbecue operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in smoking meats, fire management, and timing to deliver top-quality barbecue.

You will work in a fast-paced smokehouse, lifting heavy items, monitoring temperatures, and maintaining highest standards of safety and food quality. Competitive pay, paid training, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience smoking meats in professional BBQ settings.
• Strong knowledge of BBQ techniques, meat cuts, rubs, and timing.
• Monitor temperatures, manage fire, and maintain proper timing independently.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and consistency.
• Able to lift 50–80 lbs and work in a hot kitchen/smokehouse.
• Available to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats for service and catering, ensuring quality.
• Smoke meats to spec, monitor temps, and manage pit operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen/smokehouse.
• Assist with packaging items for storage or catering.
