Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking a mechanical engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems, size components, and prepare drawings and specifications. The role involves performing flow, pressure-drop, thermal and stress analyses and supporting safety, quality, and commissioning activities.

The position collaborates with procurement, inspections, and testing teams, often under senior staff guidance. A relevant degree and two years of hands-on experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• At least 2 years' hands-on piping, fluid systems, or process equipment experience.
• Experience with equipment sizing, pressure-drop calculations, pipe-stress concepts, codes and safety practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems and size mechanical components.
• Prepare and update technical drawings and specifications; perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal and stress analyses.
• Support safety and quality reviews, procurement, factory acceptance testing, field inspections and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot under senior staff guidance.
