Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Southwest is seeking a Piping Shop Supervisor to oversee all piping fabrication activities, safety, quality and packaging for the shop. The role directs prefabrication, ensures correct materials, and coordinates with shipping/receiving to meet delivery schedules.

The supervisor will manage QC inspections, maintain welding procedures, verify welder certifications, and drive productivity improvements while mentoring shop staff and handling timekeeping and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in pipe fit-up and welding (MIG and stick).
• Ability to read drawings and interpret isometrics.
• Proficient with scheduling software and MS Office.
• Experience in QA/QC inspections and welding certifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with piping pre-construction on spool sheets for assembly.
• Prioritize work daily/weekly to meet construction schedules.
• Ensure the shop is stocked with consumables and correct materials.
• Perform regular QA/QC inspections on items leaving the shop.
• Maintain weld maps and welding procedures/certifications.
• Schedule outside trucking vendors when needed.
• Assist shipping and receiving for packaging and shipping of materials.
