Job summary

UPS Industrial Services is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanical Quality Control (QC) Technician to support operations in the petrochemical and industrial sectors. The role ensures work meets high quality and regulatory standards by inspections, documentation, and field support.

You will read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and other documents, oversee weld and flange tracking, NDE requirements, and maintain safety compliance in the field.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and piping diagrams.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel for documentation and tracking.
• Experience in petrochemical/industrial maintenance environments.
• Welds, flanges, NDE requirements, and safety compliance knowledge.
• Willingness to travel and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project areas meet quality standards and documentation requirements.
• Track welds/flanges, maintain welder certifications and NDE records.
• Prepare flange, weld, and material documentation for turnover.
• Interpret and verify MTRs and NDE reports (RT, MT, UT, PT).
• Assist with punch lists, weld mapping, and job log maintenance.
• Oversee pipe/valve conformance to B31.3 and B16 dimensional tolerances.
• Witness testing of heat exchangers, piping systems, towers and reactors.
• Ensure safety standards and PPE usage; report hazards.
• Coordinate with clients and field personnel to meet goals.
