Job summary

Beyond New Horizons is seeking an Early to Mid-Career Piping Engineer to join the Pressure and Hazardous Material Systems (PHMS) team at Arnold AFB, TN. The role involves field inspections, Code-driven analyses, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable piping and pressure vessels for ground testing of air and space systems.

The ideal candidate has 2–7 years post-degree experience, familiarity with ASME and API standards, and strong communication skills to support

Qualifications

BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience with process piping systems or piping codes (ASME B31.3).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and access to AEDC network.
U.S. Citizenship required for employment at AEDC.

Responsibilities

Inspect pressure vessels and piping systems during field visits and report findings.
Perform ASME code calculations, pressure rating evaluations, and stress analyses.
Provide code compliance consultation under supervision of senior engineers.
Assess mechanical integrity of piping, vessels, and system components; update as-build drawings.
Collect data from field visits for mechanical integrity assessments.
Reverse engineer existing systems using NDT data for engineering analyses.
Create technical reports documenting analyses, results, and recommendations.
Ensure proper configuration management and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
